White baitfish imitation fly with synthetic fiber and 3D eyes tied for DIY inshore fishing - the best fly for tarpon, jacks and snook in Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands

Silicone Mullet

The silicone mullet (or other small white baitfish imitation) is essential. You won’t use it as much as the foam tarpon however, when the tarpon and/or jacks are actively feeding on sprats or silversides you will need this in your arsenal as the fish will unlikely entertain anything that doesn’t imitate the schools of bait closely. Extra tip: Tie some flash or live glow into the belly of the fly – add some yellow for when you are fishing amongst the sprats.
